Visitor Policy & Transporting Puppy Home

I have established this based on puppy health not human health because people carry plenty of germs with them that can be deadly to a kennel/breeder who has a closed facility. Please respect this policy and know that it is the most responsible thing I can do as an animal lover and business lady!  When puppies leave the controlled environment here at DRD they become exposed to anything they come in contact with via the ground or your clothes so that is why it is important to monitor where your puppy goes and who they are around before receiving their final puppy vaccine!! This means any long walks through the city or puppy parties in the park as soon as you get home or even stopping at a pet friendly hotel on the way home is all potential for disaster! Please keep your puppy home and safe until they get their 4th vaccine.

We raise 4 sizes of Aussiedoodles-Average Sizing Below

  • Toy size stands 13 inches to 15 inches @ the shoulder, weighing 10 to 20 pounds. WARNING: Toy aussiedoodles are more susceptible to becoming hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) so we recommend food and water be available free choice when you are away from home.
  • Miniature size stands 15 inches to 17 inches @ the shoulder, weighing 20 to 30 pounds.
  • Moyen size stands 17 inches to 19 inches @ the shoulder, weighing 3o to 40 pounds.
  • Standard size stands anything over 19 inches @ the shoulder, weighing over 40 pounds.
  • Shepadoodles and German Shepaussiedoodles are full size standards…average 20 inches to 24 inches @ the shoulder, weighing 50-60 pounds give or take…they can mature up to 27 inches weighing 95 pounds!

Predicted sizes: These are predictions based on past puppies from the same parents, the sizes of the parents, and grandparents if it applies. These predictions are my BEST GUESS, not a promise…please do not hold us to our guess! Predicting adult size is not a science…it’s a GUESS based on what we know of their lineage!

Food & Supplements

All puppies are fed Diamond Dog Food Brand with Probios probiotic powder. They are not used to any treat or junk food! An overload of treats or anything except the kibble they have been on their entire life could cause major digestive upset and extreme stool change. PLEASE BE OBSERVANT to what you are feeding your puppy…

Leaving home is stressful!

Double R Doodles has gone to great lengths to prepare your new puppy to enter your family and is not responsible for any vet bills after leaving our closed facility.  We want our buyers to understand no matter what we do here prior to sending your puppy home, the actual event is STRESSFUL! Double R Doodles will not be held responsible if your puppy is exposed to any place but HOME before the puppy is checked out by your veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving them. All puppies leaving our facility have been examined by a veterinarian & issued a signed health certificate based on their current state of health.

ALL PUPPIES need 4 vaccines to be fully protected against viruses. Your 9 week old puppy will have 3 vaccines with the 4th due in 2-3 weeks after you pick up. This means your puppy does NOT need to go on outings or be touched by everyone or touch places where other dogs have been due to the risk of exposure and contracting diseases, parasites, illnesses, parvo…a whole list of health hazards exists to a susceptible puppy that naturally sniffs things and puts them in their mouths! This all sounds scary but it is the reality of owning a puppy… they do not have a fully established immune system yet and get into things thus the reason for me providing this info to you! TO PROTECT YOU & YOUR PUPPY! And to top it all off the added stress of leaving home can compromise your puppies natural immune systems ability to ward off parasites/diseases until they settle in and get used to the new home, routine, and surroundings and get their last puppy vaccine. When you go to the vets office do not place the puppy on the floor & DO NOT let your puppy get loaded up with multiple vaccines, dewormers, and flea preventatives all in one visit! Double R Doodles is not responsible for any vet visit costs and too many times puppies are overloaded with meds and people wonder why they get sick for 24 hours or so after the visit and then assume its the breeders fault…space things out they cant handle all of that stuff at once.

When a puppy is stressed, has a change in diet, is introduced to a new environment, they tend to get loose stools or even diarrhea with possible blood showing at the end of a movement.  This is NORMAL …there is nothing we can do to change this from happening.

We recommend you treat your new puppy with Kaopectate up to 6 times in a 24 hour time period, for at least 2 days…if stools are loose or diarrhea is present.  For puppies 5 to 10 pounds give 1 cc…puppies 10 to 15 pounds 1 1/2 cc…puppies over 15 pounds 2cc.  This will most likely resolve the stool problem.  Have Probios on hand to feed your puppy twice a day…for as long as it takes to resolve the stress diarrhea.  It may take up to 30 days!

Males versus Females

Many people believe that female dogs make better pets as opposed to males. Keep in mind that in the dog pack makeup, females usually rule the roost and determine the pecking order.  The females, as a result, are more independent, stubborn, and territorial than their male counterparts.  Most fights will usually break out between 2 females.  Males on the other hand can be more affectionate, attentive, and even demanding of attention. Despite this information being true in most cases, the nature of our aussiedoodles, shepadoodles, and germanshepaussiedoodles that we breed and raise are the perfect combination for anyone!  They are all very attached to their people/family.  They also tend to be more steadfast, reliable, and constant companions.  But both males and females can be outgoing, accepting of other pets when properly introduced, and are quick to take to children.  Most boys are easily motivated by food and praise and are very eager to please.  However, males can be more easily distracted during training because they like to play.  No matter what age he is more likely to act silly and be more puppy like than the female.  Boys are fun loving until the day they die.  Girls tend to be more reserved or dignified as they age.

Males do tend to get a little larger than females.  Neutered males rarely exhibit the behavior of marking or humping.  Once the testosterone level recedes, after neutering, most of these behaviors will disappear.  Males  who are neutered early (by 5 months of age) usually don’t ever raise their leg to urinate.

Females will usually come to you for attention but when she has had enough she will move away.  Males  are always waiting for your attention and are near at hand.

Before deciding on male or female give careful thought to other animals and people in your home.  A female usually only bonds with one person (generally the main caregiver) and a male tends to bond with the whole family.  If you already have a dog in your family it is usually best to purchase a puppy of the opposite sex, for a second dog.  Having said that, two neutered males will generally get along well with each other.  Two spayed females can be “iffy”!

If you do not intend to breed your dog the best thing to do is have them spayed or neutered around 5 months of age, for a male, and 6 months of age for a female.  Consult your veterinarian for his/her best advice.

In the end it is all your choice and your preference! Just let us know and we can find the perfect puppy for you!!

Puppy Photos

Due to Aimee’s efforts being put towards daily kennel care, facility cleaning, and puppy maintenance WE DO NOT DO WEEKLY PICTURE UPDATES…that is crazy! Realistically Aimee will take newborn pics and update pictures at around 3 weeks old and then again when pups are on a bathing schedule or start to show a “change” in their activity level…puppies lay around and sleep for quite a while! You will receive updates and photos are sent via email. A final set of pictures will be done before pickup.  Taking pictures is a VERY time consuming process to do it right, we refuse to do it any other way! Weather, available help, time, amount of litters to photograph and schedules may alter the time when you receive pictures. Just because you request pictures does not mean a special day will be set aside to bath pups, fully blow dry them, take/edit photos and send them off when you want them. We are very busy and focus our time and efforts towards puppy/dog care so there is not always enough time or help to get pictures done multiple times within the 9 week period…as always we will do our best to get in some surprise group pics etc. but please respect this policy!

Reserve your Puppy!

A puppy is reserved ONLY when a Health Guarantee Form & PayPal Deposit have been received. NO EMAIL or PHONE CALL claims will be valid.

Other litters may not be posted so email and ask us what you are looking for, maybe I have the perfect match!
